Welcome to Community Compass! Our mission is to connect individuals with local resources, services, and community programs in a respectful and inclusive environment. To ensure a safe, respectful, constructive and positive experience for all users, we have established this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). By using the Community Compass app, you agree to follow these community guidelines.

1) Community Guidelines

Users must engage with the app and its community in a respectful and lawful manner. This means:

  • Be kind and courteous: Treat everyone with respect. Bullying of any kind is not allowed and negative comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated, and users will be removed from the app.
  • No Inappropriate Content: Posts or comments containing obscene, offensive, explicit, or illegal content are strictly prohibited.
  • No Harmful Information: Sharing false, misleading, or harmful information that endangers the safety of others is forbidden.
  • Confidentiality: Do not share personal or sensitive information about others without consent. User must not misuse, collect, or distribute other users data without authorisation.
  • Respect privacy: What’s shared in the community should stay in the community. No sharing of content outside of the app. Screenshots of posts and conversations should not be shared anywhere outside of the app.
  • Constructive Feedback and Experiences with Organisations: We encourage members to share positive or helpful experiences with charities, organisations, or businesses. If you have a concern or issues, we recommend addressing it directly with the organisation or through appropriate review platforms. While we understand that not all experiences may be positive, we ask that feedback shared here remains constructive. Posts that are excessively negative or unproductive will be reviewed and, if necessary, removed. Repeated violations may result in your removal from the app.

2) Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Exploit Vulnerable Users: This platform is meant to support individuals, not to take advantage of them in any way.
  • Spam or Solicit: No unsolicited promotions, advertisements, or requests for donations.
  • Impersonation: Users must not impersonate another person or entity or provide false No sharing of misleading information, or deceptive practices.
  • Data Scraping or Mining: Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the security of the app. Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to collect data.
  • Business Ads: No business or services ads allowed without prior consent of the app creators (CFG).
  • No private sales: Posts relating to private sales of goods are not prohibited. Repeat offenders will be removed from the app.
  • Other events: Post for events organised by other organisations or events may be allowed with moderation by the app creators (CFG). Some events may be removed if they do not comply with the purpose of the app. We do not take any responsibility for events and meets ups that are organised by other individuals, organisations or businesses.
  • Fundraising: Fundraising posts will only be accepted if they relate to recognised charities or causes. Repeat offenders will be removed from the app.
  • No promotions or spam: Give more than you take to the community. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links are not allowed. Repeat offenders will be removed from the app.
  • Lawful Use Only: You may not use the app for any illegal activity, including but not limited to:
  • Promoting or engaging in violence, fraud, or criminal activity.
  • Sharing or distributing content that infringes on copyright, trademarks, or intellectual property rights.
  • Impersonating individuals, organizations, or government agencies.

3) User-Generated Content

You are responsible for the content you post or share on Community Compass. We reserve the right to remove or moderate content that violates this AUP, is reported or is otherwise deemed inappropriate.

4) Enforcement and Consequences

We reserve the right to take appropriate action for violations of this AUP, including:

  • Content removal.
  • Warnings or temporary account suspension.
  • Permanent account termination.
  • Legal action if required.

5) Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this policy, please report it through the app’s built-in reporting features or contact our support team at community.compass@cfglaw.co.uk.

We reserve the right to update this policy as needed. Changes will be posted on this page and become effective upon posting. Continued use of the Community Compass after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
